Hello Bennett County High School Families!

Welcome to the 2020-2021 School year! I hope you are relaxed, recharged, and ready to start a new school year. I am delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community.

School will look a bit different this year. Schools across the nation are facing the same challenge of providing a safe and quality education for our students. It is important that all of us work together to support one another in this time of uncertainty.

The safe return of students and staff is a primary concern. Bennett County School District staff have worked diligently over the summer to develop procedures and protocols that will provide an environment that follow the recommendations from the CDC and the SD Department of Health. Included in the student packet are Re-entry Procedures that will help with questions you may have picking up and dropping students off.

In order to be kept up to date and informed, communication will be essential to make our year run as smoothly as possible. Current contact information is essential in keeping those communications lines open. Should your contact information change, please contact the school with the current phone numbers and email.

I encourage you to visit our website to look for current procedures and information about this ever changing process. Information will be posted and updated on the homepage of the website under the ‘Return to School Information’ tab. Please refer to the website for all current information. https://www.bennettco.k12.sd.us/.

Our staff is dedicated to building a safe, compassionate community of lifelong learners who are scholars, creators, critical thinkers, and problem solvers. We continue to be committed to doing our part in ensuring your child achieves academic excellence, and we look forward to working with you to guarantee that our goal is achieved.

Our instructional program will be far more effective with your active participation. Please send your children to us on time, and ready to learn. INSTRUCTION BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 8:00 AM DAILY. The student packet includes a Student Symptom Screening Checklist for parents to complete daily. Please notify the school if your child is experiencing symptoms and will not be attending that day.

Make sure to look over the Handbook, which includes the BCSD Behavior Matrix. We strive to provide a safe learning environment for all children and these guides will help us ensure that all students are able to meet their full potential at BCHS.

My staff and I look forward to working with each and every one of you. We invite you to call if you have questions or concerns at any time during the school year. You can reach me at 685-6330. Together we will make this an awesome school year!
