Dear Parents/Guardians/Fans, The SDHSAA is attempting to gather the economic impact data of our state events for the purposes of engaging local chambers of commerce to explore ways to keep costs to families down and to explore cost saving avenues for our member schools. We started this last year with state volleyball and will end it this fall with state football. Your responses are confidential and are anonymously compiled within the IMPLAN Economic Impact computer program. No identifying data will be asked of you or used within the study. We appreciate you taking the time to help us with this undertaking. Your feedback is necessary and appreciated. If possible, please take the survey as soon after your event as possible, as our IMPLAN license runs out shortly after the fall season. The survey can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DS7TQNX SDHSAA Economic Impact Study- Fall 2025 Championships Take this survey powered by surveymonkey.com.

"Today, our excited kindergarten students took a fun and educational mini field trip to the Martin Fire Hall! 🚒👩‍🚒👨‍🚒 The kids were all smiles as they got a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be a firefighter. From exploring the big red fire trucks to trying on mini firefighter helmets, their curiosity and excitement were off the charts! Thank you to the amazing team at the Martin Fire Hall for hosting us and making this a special day for our young learners. They loved every minute! ❤️🚒"

Mr. Sabellano's 5th-grade class studied the effects of time zones from two different countries. One of the contacts was another 5th-grade student; she shared how her day started as a new student in a different time zone. Other real-world impacts of the lesson were global citizenship and cultural and lifestyle differences.
